EDF Inc. is a proud sponsor of High School FIRST Robotics team 179 "The Children of the Swamp".

What is FIRST?

The FIRST mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership. How is EDF Involved?

EDF provides both financial and physical support to the Inlet Grove and Suncoast High School Robotics Team 179, "The Children of the Swamp". For over ten years, our engineers have worked alongside students to help accomplish the goal of educating students in advanced robotics. Visit 179swampthing.org for more information.

SUCCESS!

We are proud of the fact that team 179 came second place in the World at the the 2007 FIRST Championship event in Atlanta! Also the team has taken first or second place at the Florida Regional in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011.
