JET Engine Test CELLS, STANDS AND Facilities

EDF Inc. has designed Jet Engine Test Facilities since 1978 and has completed well over 10,000 projects or tasks related to the testing of Gas Turbine Engines.

For each of our projects, the EDF design team was responsible for the overall Engineering, Design and Drafting of the major hardware assemblies and sub-assemblies. Also, EDF provided procurement drawings and specifications along with construction management as the various structures were assembled and installed. More detailed information regarding some of these projects are available in our portfolio section.

The technical challenges of designing a jet engine test facility require extensive experience with performance characteristics, logistics of usage. We understand the fabrication process, assembly and installation, harsh acoustic environments, vibration, temperature, pressure and airflow issues. Also a key issue is the long term maintenance and operational costs of running these facilities. EDF has extensive knowledge in minimizing these costs and extending the life of test equipment and facilities.

Our extensive experience with Military, Commercial and Industrial Gas Turbine Engine Test Facilities includes:

  • TurboShaft test beds using Water or Air brake Dynometers, Torque Measurement and cooling systems
  • TurboProp, TurboJet and TurboFan Thrust Measurement Stands
